Homemade Solution

Before you think of trying a chemical solution, you’ll want to try this home remedy. You’ll want mix together equal parts: Water, rubbing alcohol, & Vinegar. After putting those together you’ll want to add a bit of dish soap to this solution before applying it to the stain. This solution is great because it can target both oil-based and water-based paint stains.

Nail Polish Remover

Using an acetone nail polish remover is another great way to remove paint stains if the homemade solution does not work. When using the nail polish remover, you should let it sit for a few minutes before removing it. This gives it time to let the remover break down the paint stain before you to remove it. It may take two or three times for the paint stain to be removed fully.

Window Cleaner

If you happen to be dealing with acrylic paint, then another solution could be using a window cleaner. Due to many window cleaners containing Ammonia, it can break down the paint allowing you to wipe it away without damaging the floor board. Much like with the nail polish remover, you’ll want to let the window cleaner solution sit on the stain for a few minutes before wiping it away.
